Here's a few shots of the business
end of my rail. Originally
a basket case with a stock 1600 and swingaxle. Now
it's 30" longer, 20" wider, and rides on air. A
302 roller cam Ford V8 spins a shortened C4 automatic w/2400rpm
stall and shift kit. The belt drive and jack
shaft connect it to an IRS fabbed from Ford/Lincoln 9" third
member w/inboard disc brakes. 930 CVs and axle shafts
get the power to the wheels. Trailing arms
ride on Firestone air bags and Rancho shocks. Street
legal, but 5.67 gear makes for some poor fuel economy! Favorite
riding spots are Silver Lake, Michigan and Waynoka, Oklahoma. Fabrication
and design by owner/builder Dave Stinson, machine work
by Glenn Johnson - Pioneer Precision Products, Centerville,
OH. |
